Project Coordinator / Project Engineer

The project coordinator / project engineer (PC) works in coordination with a project manager and project superintendent to ensure successful startup, execution, and closeout of projects. The PC will assist in many aspects of construction including direct communication with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and designers. The PC assures that Whitestone Construction Services is represented professionally and efficiently by providing outstanding service to all individuals and organizations associated with the project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage and balance project volume to complete tasks for each project in a timely manner. If you are unable to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner, it is the PC’s responsibility to ask for assistance from a supervisor or team-member. When appropriate, ask for additional assignments and/or opportunities.
  • Assist in the estimation of projects, including communication with subcontractors, reviewing and organization of bids, and putting together bid packages and requests for qualifications
  • Facilitate the procurement of building permits
  • Put together project binders for project managers and project superintendents
  • Create and coordinate approval of subcontracts and change orders
  • Facilitate the collection and review of submittals
  • Aid in project close-out processes, including creation of close-out documents and tax reconciliations


  • Able to work on a full-time basis
  • Able to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, and other construction documents
  • Able to work effectively with subcontractors and vendors
  • Strong knowledge of Office suite programs, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Able to juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines at a time
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 1 to 2 years of office experience
  • Familiarity with construction practices and procedures
  • A passion for construction and a natural design to learn and succeed in this industry


  • 45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Eligible to participate in generous profit-sharing plan
  • Accrual of up to 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) the first year
